Girl Power

All decades have seen Girl Power dominating the charts – and we are not just talking Spice Girls!

If we were to ask you to name your top 10 favourite female artists of all time, you’d probably be hard pressed to narrow it down that small a number.

We tried and eventually came up with this incredible line up, though there are so many more that deserve to be on the list:

  1. Adele – still in the early stages of her stadium World Tour and receiving great reviews from the music press and fans
  2. Eva Cassidy – sadly taken from us too soon, this Songbird was introduced to the UK market by the late great Sir Terry Wogan
  3. Donna Summer – the amazing Hot Stuff Disco Queen herself!
  4. Beyonce – no longer a Single Lady but that track is a sure fire hit on the dance floor at any event
  5. Dolly Parton – the rhinestone bedazzled Country music singer has amazingly had over 110 chartered singles over four decades
  6. Tina Turner – with a string of hits from the 60’s onwards, 11 Grammy Awards and her trademark stage presence, it’s hardly surprising that she is the most successful female Rock n Role artist
  7. Whitney Houston – did you know the Bodyguard track ‘I Will Always Love You’ is one of the best-selling singles of all time?
  8. Gloria Gaynor – another Disco Queen who brought us the amazing dance floor fillers ‘I will Survive’, ‘Never Can Say Goodbye’ and ‘I Am What I Am’
  9. Karen Carpenter – the unmistakable music of The Carpenters still sounds as beautiful now
  10. Amy Winehouse – the jazz and rhythm & blues lioness also gave us the fabulous cover of The Zuton’s Valerie with Mark Ronson

If our list has got you thinking this would make the perfect play list for your event, then you are in luck as Hayley, one of our latest Female Tribute Artists includes covers of all of these fabulous singers (and more!) in her act.
