Originally from South Wales, Jason started dancing in 1986, he joined a local dance trouppe…..AND LOVED IT!
Jason’s determination and hard work was rewarded in 1989 when he entered the Welsh dance championships and won.
Later that year he moved to Blackpool to further his career in dance and it was there in 1994 that he auditioned for a position as backing dancer/singer for a newly formed pop group called Prophecy.
Prophecy did well as a group with numerous tours of military bases in Germany and appearing at Manchester Mardi Gras for four consecutive years and performing at various radio road shows in the North West.
Although they had a non-stop touring schedule of nightclubs and bars up and down the country, one thing still eluded them, that sacred record deal.
It was May 1999 that the group decided to disband.
In 2000, Jason persued a solo career in London. He aimed his talents at the night club market with a slickly choreographed show of dance/club tracks.
Storming the London circuit, Jason’s determination was again rewarded in 2000, with an invitation to perform as one of the support artist’s at London’s Mardi Gras.
It was at this concert that Jason met John Springate who had just written and produced Nikki French’s Eurovision entry. John was in the process of putting a group together for Eurovision 2001 and asked Jason to be part of it. Jason accepted and the track “Romeo and Juliet” managed to get into the final twenty.
Later that year Jason received an offer to work on the Costa del Sol. As things were going so well in London Jason at first turned the offer down. However, with the disappointment of the Eurovision entry and after a quick scouting trip to the Costa, Jason had a re-think. By April 2001 he was working six night’s a week on the Costa del Sol.
The following year John Springate also decided to move to the Costa del Sol and since then he and Jason have been writing and producing material together.
Jason’s love of musical theatre and acting were indulged when he was asked to take part in a production show on the coast, working with Westend, musical directors and choreographers Jason was in his element….The show included big song & dance numbers and comedy sketches…..Jason had never attempted comedy before….But took to it like a duck to water.
In October 2005 Jason and John decided to remix a Westlife track called “You Raise Me Up” which was released by Klone Records, since then they have enjoyed a great relationship with Klone and have released many remixes on Klone’s compilation series ‘Mad About The Boy’.
A compilation album called ‘Eurovision Gems’ was released in May 2007, through Handbag Productions and the tracks ‘Hold Me Now’, ‘Making Your Mind Up’ and ‘Don’t Play That Song Again’ featured Jason’s vocals. Jason toured Scandinavia promoting the album in the same year.
During his time in Spain….Jason has tipped his toe into the wonderfull world of Radio presenting, hosting ‘Drive Time’ on Octopus FM and then more recently on Heart FM Spain. Jason also tried his hand presenting on TV, for Sotogrande TV….Reporting live from Summer concerts up and down the Costa Del Sol.
Jason will sadly be saying farewell to Spain in June 2013 and returning to the UK. Expect some exciting things from Jason in the very near future…Tour dates, New remixes and a long overdue return to acting.
